I import my products from China by using door to door service. Sometimes a container can cost up to RM15,000. However, ever since I got the advice from Mindstorm through their courses, I started to understand how to use the duty-free allowance, so that my products are exempted from 10-15% import duty. I let the manufacturer declared the FOB Port Klang rate, the Malaysia customs clearance, inclusive of SST cost me around RM3,000 only. I save RM7,000 from 1 container, which is 47%. Based on 1 month 2 containers calculations, 1 year I managed to save more than RM168,000 on my logistics costs.

I am in the Plastic Injection Manufacturing, a sunset business and because the cost of plastic that I purchase from China is often very high, my mold is not competitive causing a lot of my customers to leave before I can achieve ROI. After getting to know Vickie, she guided me on how to place orders (mold) from China. The initial cost of the mold is around RM40,000-50,000, but I got it at around RM10,000. She taught me how to communicate with suppliers in China. With their cooperation, I have placed a few orders with the China suppliers for several molds. My products have gained the competitive advantage after reducing the costs of my molds. I managed to achieve my ROI within 2 months, and maintain good cash flow in my business. With the effective communication with China suppliers, they also taught me how to maintain the lifespan of the mold thereby increasing the competitiveness of my business

I typically purchase about RM1,000,000 worth of consumable product supplies from suppliers in China. At first, I do not know what benefit I will get by comparing pricing from different suppliers. However, after Vickie introduced me to some techniques and explained to me influences of cost structure and what simple changes I could make, I now save up to 10% - 20% of my purchase cost amounting to about RM 100,000 to RM 120,000 per year. Sourcing around for the best price help me get to know more suppliers, and I can select the most suitable consumable products.
