This specially developed 1 day masterclass was conceived to assist post-graduate scholars with a visual mind-map using a specially developed visual research framework to help them with putting together the necessary components of a thesis quickly and effortlessly.
It covers areas that focuses on the ‘gut’ of the post graduate thesis and provides scholars with tips and tricks on conceptualizing, developing and completing their thesis. In addition, the course includes templates and tools which may be helpful for students to manage their activities.
Upon completing this class, scholars will have a complete framework which will allow them to develop their thesis with minimal problems.
Dr Tom Tan is an Adjunct Professor at Asia Pacific University and has been teaching part-time MBA and DBA programs in areas of strategic management, information technology, marketing and human resources since 2010 and has supervised more than 300 post-graduate students for local and foreign universities.
In imparting his lectures, he realized the lack of critical thinking skills apparent in today’s managers which has led him to take a certification on ‘Case Study Teaching Method’ taught by Harvard Business School and organized by Harvard Business Publishing and Indian Institute of Management, India.
As a result he has developed a unique visual teaching methodology which uses a combination of templates and tools allowing students to visually encapsulate and link their key learnings allowing them to pick up complex subjects with ease. He now teaches students how to apply this methodology for their academic work including developing their thesis.
